EPIC SUMMER VACATION | OBX

For military families, taking vacations are always a struggle. Getting the time off, scheduling things in advance, traveling.... it just is so hard. But we did it! We finally made it happen. And it was everything. We rented a little beach box via Airbnb and had our very first epic summer vacation. 

When my husband went to ranger school last year,  I decided to fly my boys and I down to attend the graduation in Georgia and drive back home to Virginia all together (mostly because ranger school leaves the soldiers extremely sleepy for the first few weeks when adjusting back to "normal" life, haha! And i didn't want to risk him fall asleep at the wheel when he drove back home). So we did just that. We took advantage of the little road trip and stopped at a place called Nags Head, NC. We only stayed for the night and continued on our trip back home but we vowed to come back to this beach. Fast forward to a year later, here we are. 

The house was AMAZING.

It was supposed to rain and thunderstorm for our entire trip. We kept checking the forecast like crazy people leading up to our trip and it didn't look very promising. The owners even texted us the night before, offering us a full refund if we wanted to cancel our trip. We decided to just go for it and see what happens. SO GLAD WE DID. The weather changed and we had NOTHING. BUT. SUN. every single day. How amazing is that?! Hello, crazy east coast summer weather?!
